My name is Doug MacKay, I am a freelance graphic designer who has been working in the graphic design and publishing industry for over 28 years. I have worked extensively in graphics, magazine and editorial design, illustration, infographics, print and digital media design, photography and video editing production. I am also an artist and musician.

As a freelance graphic designer my clients include large nationwide membership organisations, national and Kent based charities, business innovation companies, design agencies and advanced software tech companies. For these, I produce digital and print publications, magazines, infographics, slide deck presentations, illustration, video editing and branding work.

 

Previous to my freelance work I spent 14 years working for Deeson Publishing, who specialised in communication solutions for membership organisations and the Deeson Group, a design and website development agency, based in Canterbury and London.

As the senior graphic designer I was responsible for designing print and digital publications for a wide range of clients which included the Society of Radiographers, Political Studies Association, Fire Industry Association, The Institute of Management Services, The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, British Dental Industry Association, The Microbiology Society, British Alpaca Society, The Landscape Design Trust, Kent Cricket, The University of Kent, NICEIC, Lounge on the Farm Festival and The Chartered Institute of Highway Transportation.

I have an extensive range of experience in design, print and design consultation, having gained a degree in Fine Art and Film. I also work extensively in digital, illustration, video production, animation and photography. Prior to joining Deeson I was a graphic designer for an agency designing and managing a wide range of design and creative projects for large private companies, and the public and charitable sector. I began my design career working on photography for the Channel Tunnel Group/Eurotunnel.
